  38. to you.

  40. This regards the Hints & Kinks piece in March QST about replacing paddle
  41. feet with
  42. suction cups to help keep the key in place.
  43.  
  44. I located an excellent source for suction cups.  The local WalMart is
  45. selling their
  46. bottom-of-the-line automotive stick on clipboards for $0.25.  I replaced
  47. two of the
  48. feet on a set of Benchers with the two suction cups from one of these
  49. clipboards.  It
  50. seems to work well, although I have yet to give it a heavy duty workout. 
  51. Not bad for
  52. a total cost of one quarter.  Plus, with a little creativity you can
  53. still find a use 
  54. for the desuctioncupped clipboard.
  55.  
  56. I have no idea how many locations carry this item or how the price may
  57. vary by location.
  58. (I could say "your mileage may vary", but that is a phrase probably
  59. inappropriate to
  60. be coming from the antiquated brain of someone who "does" CW.)

  92. The licence issuers in the US seem to take a real pasting from many people 
  93. in
  94. the US for their long delays.  I've got to say that the Canadians at 
  95. Industry Canada,
  96. are so fast it is hard to believe.

  113. Finally,  the licence says I need to use G4APV/VE6.   I thought that 
  114. convention would  put the VE6 bit in
  115. front?

  227. I love mine, in spite of the intermod problems... If you live near a metro
  228. area, you might not be happy with the rcvr, especially on UHF. The features are
  229. really fun to play with...

  231. Also be aware that this month's QST has a new model , 733, advertised.  I don't
  232. know if this rig is available, but I'd check before I bought a 732. The rcvr
  233. problems are likely to be fixed on this model...

  235. Again, if you don't live in a high RF environment, I'd buy the 732 - It's a great
  236. radio.

  264. Well, I have a Standard dual-band HT (C528A), and recently got to play
  265. with one of their mobiles.. it's got a brick you put under the seat or
  266. wherever, and the control head is the microphone.. very impressive.
  267. Standard is an excellent company, and their radios while a bit more
  268. expensive are an excellent investment.

  307. above, for as some folks have pointed out there are other reasons
  308. for appending a number besides whether or not the country has divided
  309. itself into radio districts.
